We source content from travel suppliers, connect, aggregate and merchandise that content in our platform, the WebBeds Marketplace, and distribute it to our global network of travel trade clients (our distribution partners), who sell to the travelling public.

Our clients – online travel agencies, retail travel agents, corporate travel managers, tour operators, wholesalers, tourism boards, super apps, DMC’s, group providers, airlines. etc. – can access the company’s huge global inventory via market-leading, trade-only websites or via simple and seamless API connectivity. In addition to hotel product, clients also book transfer services in 1,200 destinations, along with thousands of guided excursions and tickets for attractions.

GoSee started small in 2004, as Online Republic, the brainchild of two brothers with big dreams. Providing complex travel itinerary automation technology to digital travel businesses.

Trip Ninja has developed several key products for traditional and online travel agencies to automate the highly manual process of selling complex international itineraries.

FareStructure is a technology that automates the combining of fares from carriers that do not have a cooperation or codeshare agreement in order to give customers the best priced itinerary. Traditionally a fairly manual process, Trip Ninja is able to produce these results in seconds. For traditional travel agents, FareStructure can make a junior travel agent as productive as a seasoned veteran and it gives the OTA industry the ability to create complex itineraries using non-aligned carriers in an automated way.

FlexTrip is the automated re-ordering of a multi-stop itinerary to deliver a better price. Used in combination, FareStructure and FlexTrip give the travel industry the ability to show the consumer pricing options that could only ever be surfaced manually by a very experienced travel agent.

Both Fare Structure and FlexTrip are available via web interface, QuickTrip, and via API.

On the acquisition 
Trip Ninja was acquired in FY22 to enhance the Webjet OTA offering by allowing us to offer unique, highly competitive content to our customers. Trip Ninja technology will remain exclusive to the Webjet OTA in Australia and New Zealand, and be sold to travel industry participants in other markets. Trip Ninja technology is being integrated into the Webjet OTA platform and expected to go live during FY23.

Blockchain-based hotel booking verification technology.

Built in partnership with Microsoft, since 2016 Rezchain is the hotel distribution industry’s first blockchain-based booking verification solution allowing companies to share booking data to address mismatched information and avoid costly errors.

Rezchain is implemented across the WebBeds businesses and has played a key role in reducing operating costs. It is currently used for all WebBeds intercompany bookings.

Rezchain is now available to the broader travel industry as a data reconciliation tool to help eliminate unnecessary cost and drive efficiencies.

Drive easy revenue with hotel upsell automation.

ROOMDEX simplifies and super-charges upselling. It relieves hoteliers of the labour time required by other upselling solutions while delivering high margin revenue.

ROOMDEX’s flagship product, Upgrade Optimizer, is a fully automated hotel upsell tool that intelligently calculates True AvailabilitySM (ensuring upgrade offers can be fulfilled) and the optimal price for hotels to provide upsell offers on room upgrades, stay extensions and guest services. By automating the often time-consuming upsell process, Upgrade Optimizer delivers hotels high margin revenue and substantial return on investment. ROOMDEX’s forthcoming ABS (Attribute Based Selling) technology will enable hotels to further increase revenue from bespoke upselling.

On the investment
Webjet Limited holds a 49% share of ROOMDEX, with an option to acquire the remaining 51%. ROOMDEX automates the process for hotels to provide upsell offers on room upgrades, stay extensions and guest services. Technology under development will enable hotels to further increase revenue from bespoke upselling. Webjet Limited plans to offer the ROOMDEX product through the WebBeds business to further differentiate its offering and provide added value to its hotel partners.

Blockchain based B2C travel marketplace.

LockTrip.com is a blockchain based B2C hotels marketplace, underpinned by a blockchain platform which is powered by a utility token, the LOC. Consumers can pay for hotel stays in multiple currencies or in LOC. LockTrip also provides its own decentralised public blockchain, the Hydra chain, powered by the HYDRA coin.

Webjet Limited’s interest in LockTrip is threefold:

  • Accelerated development of its blockchain expertise;
  • Integration of LockTrip into the Webjet OTA hotel offering; and
  • Potential to migrate Webjet’s Rezchain application onto the Hydra chain (as Hydra solves many of the issues that prevent the wholesale adoption of blockchain as a commercial platform).

On the investment
Locktrip is helping expand Webjet Limited’s blockchain expertise and is being integrated into the Webjet OTA to enhance its B2C hotel offering.

Webjet Limited holds a 25% share in LockTrip, with an option to increase to 51%. Locktrip is being integrated onto the Webjet OTA offering for its hotel offering. Locktrip is also helping accelerate Webjet’s own blockchain expertise.
